Limited Edition AKO Print

Limited Edition AKO Print

I find myself doing a lot of volunteering throughout the year for one charity or another, so when dj n810 (www.facebook.com/dj.n810) messaged me about donating something for a food drive raffle, I was pretty stoked and honored.

Wasn’t sure what the crowd would want, so I ended up turning to a recent project of mine, train graffiti.  There’s a lot of it out there, let me tell you.  And a lot of it is kind of boring…just silly gang tags or a poorly depicted penis or vagina.  Kind of worthless when it comes to art.

On the other hand…there is some AMAZING graffiti out there!  Some of these artists should get PAID for what they put on the trains!  I wish we were more open to graffiti as art here in the States…I’ve seen some really amazing projects done overseas.  Germany, for example has some really great graffiti art going on.

So, flipping through the images I’ve captured recently, I found AKO.  I love this image so much, it’s even my iPhone wallpaper.  I did a small test print of it, to see how it looks on paper…and I was really happy with the results!  In fact, I’m doing a limited edition run of 12×18 prints of the shot!

The first one was given away at the food drive (thanks n810!).  I’m going to do 5 more, mat and frame them, and release them upon the public, like a wave of Mecha-Godzillas!  Only shorter.  And they don’t breathe sparks.  But they’re still cool to look at!

After this run, AKO will never be printed in this format again!  I have one other print run in mind, but that will be a separate limited edition print of a different style (why not get them both??).

If you’re interested in owning this small piece of history, they’ll be for sale soon at $200 each.  Pre-order one by emailing me at jer.hoc@gmail.com, and I’ll throw in an extra graffiti print of my random choosing!  Each AKO will come with a Certificate of Authenticity, just to prove that you are a proud owner of an actually limited edition release.
