About

Photography should be personal…if it’s a portrait or a landscape or even a product shot, it should say something that grabs the viewer.  No, it should SHOUT it, grabbing the viewer by the eyes, the nerves behind the eyes, the brain, the very soul.  They should walk away from viewing that photo and have it burned into their memory.

Does this always happen?  Of course not…but I strive towards that goal every time I pick up a camera.  And Absinthe Photography is my outlet to the world that lets me make these statements for you to see.  You may enjoy my images, you may not, but I hope you at least remember them.

I’m Jeremy Hochhalter, and I’ve been taking photos since I was a kid (good ol’ 110!).  My tastes and eye have changed over the years, and I hope that my skills continue to grow and evolve until I can no longer lift the viewfinder to my eye.

I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography in 2008, and have had work shown at the Center for Fine Art Photography, as well as other shows in the Fort Collins area.  I also head up NoCo Pro Photo, an organization of photographers in Northern Colorado with over 200 members.

When I take your photo, I don’t want to just have something you’ll put into your album and look at 20 years from now.  I want to make something for you that you want to hang on your wall, show all of your friends…that makes you want to stop strangers on the street to make them see it.  I want you to look at it and say out loud, “Wow!!”

I hope to see you in my twisted world perspective soon…
